Category Block - Custom Layout
Freedom Of Customization
It is possible to create your own block layout, write it in HTML with your own CSS etc.
Use special "tags" to place the content prepared by Category Block.
Or example, if you want to have the image only to be shown, type [image] into "Custom Block Layout" box.
Example:
Full List of "Tags"
- [image] - Image
- [link] - Link (without <a href...)
- [articletitle] - Article Title
- [article] - Shortened Article
- [createdby - User that created an article
- [username] - Username of the one who created an article
- [metadesc] - Meta Description of an article
- [metakey] - Meta Keywords
- [hits] - Number of views
- [creationdate] - Creation Date
- [readmore] - Readmore link (with <a href...)
- [gotocomments] - Goto Comments
- [introtext] - Introtext (article) with it's formatting (html)
- [fulltext] - Fulltext (article) with it's formatting (html)
You may pass some parameter there like: [image:100,60,style="border: 1px red solid;"]
Where [image is a "Tag" and everything after ":" is parameters separated by comma ",".
Above will create an image tag <img src="/..." width="100" height="60" style="border: 1px red solid;" />
List of "Tags" with parameters:
- [image:width,height,option] - Image
- [metadate:parameter] - Article metadata like: author,robots,rights}
Example: [metadate:author] - [creationdate:dateformat] - Creation Date //example: "F j, Y, g:i a"
- [readmore:custom label,targetwindow,option] - Readmore link (with <a href...)
- [gotocomments:custom label,targetwindow,optio] - Goto Comments

Category Block - Module
You may set style and other parameters in module but also you may create one profile in back-end and use it, in many modules and/or components or even with plugin.
When you place Category Block into a module you have a fixed-size block which may have Scroll Bars (Horizontal, Vertical or Both) or it may float slowly from bottom to top like a news line, but vertical.
On this page you may see both examples, one with a scroll bar on top (with red border) and another with "Auto Flow" with green border.
You may adjast a lot of settings, see screen-shot below:
Or use profile:
